Kid Friendly Aspen Eats!

Who doesn’t love to eat out? Lets face it, we all love to try a new restaurant out… especially while on vacation (calories don’t count… am I right?!). However, I have noticed that most vacation destinations like to cater to an older crowd (Husband/Wife/Partner) when it comes to eating out. I have put together a list of my favorite Aspen eats when I’m hanging out (babysitting) with my friends who were born after 2008.

BREAKFAST-the most important meal of the day:

Poppycock’s Café

665 E. Cooper Ave Aspen, Colorado 81611

HOURS:

Breakfast 7am-2:30pm Mon-Sat, till-2pm Sun Lunch 11:30am-2-2:30

-I love this as a go-to breakfast spot, it is a local hit with so many options.. and homemade chocolate milk – whip cream added OF COURSE!

Started in 1971 by two English women as a creperie, Poppycock’s Café was named after being the go-to place for a little “gossip.” From its original location in the Brand Building to its current location, Poppycock’s Café has transformed from a local creperie to a lively breakfast nook for locals and tourists alike. Owned by Roaring Fork Valley restauranteurs Paul Poh and Bee Wong since 1990, Poppycock’s Café has become internationally known for their famous Oatmeal Buttermilk Pancakes.

LUNCH:

CP BURGER

433 East Durant Avenue Aspen, Colorado 81611 Silver Circle Ice Skating Rink

OPEN EVERYDAY 11am-9pm

-This is a great lunch spot to take kids, located right next to the ice rink in the heart of Aspen. You can literally skate right up to the cash wrap to order your juicy burger! I am a fan of all their options for substitutes. Sometimes its hard to satisfy a child’s hunger while also trying to eat healthy. CP Burger offers lettuce “buns” as a sub for normal buns, Veggie burgers if your diet is vegetarian, Salads if your appetite is light, and Edamame instead of fries.

DINNER:

Brunelleschi’s

205 S. Mill St. Aspen, CO 81611 (Mill St. Plaza)

Hours:

11am-10:30pm Daily

MENU:

-Looking for a fun option? Take the kids to this local pizza joint! I recommend the “make your own pizza” for kids. They get to choose all the toppings, and the waiter will bring them all the ingredients to create their pizza (chef hat included)!

“Nicknamed “Bruno’s,” serves gourmet pizza and pasta, and a variety of other casually elegant classic Italian dishes. Kid’s “make your own Pizza”. This Aspen Italian restaurant is a favorite among locals and offers a vibrant atmosphere. Patio space during the summer. Live music at times” -Bruno’s Website
