Emerson H.

Hi families! My name is Emerson, and I’m originally from Los Angeles, California. I recently graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a B.A. in Communication. I came to Breckenridge in search of a new adventure and quickly fell in love with the mountain lifestyle and community. I now work as a Ski Patroller at Copper Mountain during the winter season and as an Outdoor Recreation Instructor for the kids camp at the Breckenridge Recreation Center, where I lead programs in hiking, biking, and climbing.
I’ve been babysitting and working with kids for over ten years, with experience ranging from infants as young as six months to teenagers. Over the years, I’ve led fun activities like arts and crafts, outdoor games, and story time, and I love helping kids learn, grow, and have fun along the way. I’ve held roles as a child care attendant, camp counselor, tutor, assistant dance teacher, and more—always bringing energy, creativity, and care to every role.
I currently hold an EMT certification, along with CPR, First Aid, and lifeguarding certifications. This training has enhanced my ability to provide safe, responsive care in any situation. My background in Communication helps me build strong connections with both children and parents, and I’m confident in handling a variety of childcare needs with empathy and professionalism.
When caring for children, I bring lots of energy, positivity, and creativity. I love engaging them through imaginative play, outdoor adventures, and hands-on projects. Three of my favorite activities to do with kids are nature scavenger hunts, simple science experiments, and making up dances or talent shows. Families can expect me to be reliable, fun, and truly invested in their children’s well-being.
I look forward to meeting your family and creating a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for your kids!
