Natalie W.
Hello! I'm Natalie, a Colorado native, although I have spent my past 3 years living in Central America. After I graduated college, I was eager to explore different ways of life through culture and travel. I started in Mexico and landed in Costa Rica, practicing art and forging while I also learned Spanish. Though I love living abroad, the snowboarder in me was crying, so I came to spend the Winter in Summit County and I love being back with fresh eyes!
I was an active and energetic kid growing up, typically exploring the woods in the backyard, practicing gymnastic tricks in the grass, or riding during the winter. And to be honest, not much has changed. It wasn’t until highschool I started creating art frequently and that behavior also never stopped. I later graduated with a degree in Visual Arts and in Advertising at CU Boulder, while I coached gymnastics and nannied on the side. I'm CPR certified and also can share insight on movement as I'm a gymnast at core. I first began working with kids in the gym for a total of 4 years, coaching boys ninja classes, girls gymnastics ages 3-12, running summer camp, hosting birthday parties and often babysitting students and absolutely loved it!
Currently, I am focused on building my art portfolio so I can continue to travel and grow with my work. I value childlike joy and playfulness in my practice so creating with kiddos is an absolute joy for me and something I will always offer (with cleanup ;). I'm currently teaching classes at the Art Spot in Silverthorne and working at Copper. In my off time if I'm not creating, I love learning about herbs, practicing movement and flow art, or on the mountain. I know children to be so wise and I find so much play and insight working with them. My goal is to make the environment fun, engaging, and inspiring!
